Rachel Coventry lives in Galway. Her debut collection Afternoon Drinking in the Jolly Butchers was published by Salmon Poetry in 2018. Her poems have appeared in various journals including the North, The Moth, Poetry Ireland Review, The Irish Times, Cyphers and, The SHop. She won the Galway University Hospitals Arts Trust Annual Poetry Competition in 2016 and has been short-listed for many other competitions including The Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Prize. She has been a featured reader at many events and festivals including Cúirt International Festival of Literature. She is about to complete a Ph.D. on Heidegger’s poetics at NUI Galway and is currently working on her second collection, which will be published in early 2021.
