Were You There? – poems by Margaret O’Driscoll

Margaret O’Driscoll is a very busy mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. She lives in Co’ Cork, Ireland and is a Social Care worker and family carer and was a home educator for several years. Margaret decided to share her poetry only in the past few years and her poems have appeared in various journals and anthologies including A New Ulster, mgversion2datura, Mute Melodist, The Basil O’Flaherty, Society of Classical Poets and Poets Unite Worldwide. One of her poems was published by Hodder Education for a current GCSE English Literature Exam Revision publication. She was awarded a full bursary to attend The John Hewitt Summer School in 2016. Some of her poems have been translated into Finnish, Bulgarian and Polish.

Margaret published her first collection of poetry in 2016, ‘The Best Things In Life Are Free’, it reflects some of the things in life that are the most meaningful and memorable for her, the book cover is a copy of her painting, ‘Butterfly On A Buddleia’.
