Salma Dam/Afghan-India Friendship Dam (funded by India US$300 million) is a hydroelectric power project built on the Hari River in Herat province. The plant has a power generation capacity of 42 MW. It can irrigate 75,000 hectares of agricultural land. The Dam was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on June 4, 2016
